A glowing complexion is very on-trend right now, and it's perfect for this time of year where your skin starts to get a little bit drier in the colder months. I've been loving shimmery blushes as they often lift the cheekbones, meaning I can skip highlighter - perfect for busy mornings. I've got quite a few in my stash now and to be honest I probably don't need them all, but they're so pretty that I can't help myself when I go shopping.
The blush that started this obsession was the lovely Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in 05 Lovely Pink. There was a huge hype in the blogging world when these were released so it was inevitable that I was going to end up getting one, so I went for this lovely light pink shimmery shade. This is very flattering for my skintone and can be built up to use as a natural looking blush, or worn lightly just to brighten up the cheeks.
I think I got the Seventeen Instant Pink Bronze Shimmer Brick at around the same time. What I like about this is that it's slightly more versatile - you could use just the lighter shade to highlight, or mix the middle shades for a blush, or use the brown colour as a metallic bronzer, or mix them all together. It's a smidge on the glittery side, so start off lightly and build it up as required. Another versatile option is the Makeup Revolution Palette in Golden Sugar, which is such a beautiful palette. I mainly use the pinker shades in the palette but those with medium skintones will like using the bronzer options in there, too.
The most recent addition to my collection is the Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Beauty's Touch, which I threw into my basket during my last Amazon splurge so that I could spend enough get free shipping. I'll admit I bought it because the packaging is beautiful, but the actual product is very nice - when I eventually visit the states again, I'll be keeping an eye out for more of these.
