One of the (very few) benefits of having tonsillitis is that I've had the chance to read more. As a teenager I used to get through a book a week fairly easily, but times have changed since then as I no longer have as much free time. But I knew that was going to change when my mum gave me an Amazon Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas.
My Favourite Photographer's and Photography Books
Today I thought I'd chat about my favourite photography books in my collection, but it was very hard to narrow it down! You've probably seen the bookshelf in the background on my videos and possibly some blog photographs. As I spent six years studying photography, it will come as no surprise that most of these books were accumulated during that time, either to help with essays or as gifts from family members.
'This Modern Love' by Will Darbyshire
I've loved Will Darbyshire's YouTube Channel for a long time, and when I found out he was releasing a book I knew that I was going to have to buy it. I don't rush to get my hands on every single book (or other merchandise) released by a vlogger... but Will's sounded interesting. This Modern Love is a collection of letters, tweets and photographs from around the world by people in and out of love, who responded to questions from Will in his videos and social media.
'Humans of New York: Stories' by Brandon Stanton
I've loved the website Humans of New York for a few years now, so I was delighted when my sister got me the second book, 'Humans of New York: Stories' by Brandon Stanton. If you're unfamiliar with the blog, Stanton interviews and photographs complete strangers and puts their images and words online.
My Pocket-Sized Reminder To Be More Confident
When I heard about the book It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want To Be by Paul Arden on Grace Victory's blog, I knew I was going to have to buy it. Those of you who remember my New Year's Resolution might have twigged why I would want to own a book with such a title - in short, I am trying to believe in myself this year, and a pocket-sized confidence boost looked perfect.
life.love.beauty by Keegan Allen
I always liked the character Toby in Pretty Little Liars, but I didn't know much about the actor who portrayed him; Keegan Allen. It wasn't until I started following the PLL social media accounts that I found out that Allen is a keen photographer, and was releasing a book called life.love.beauty.
