I've raved about the Maybelline Color Tattoos on more than one occasion, both over here and on my Youtube channel. They're a staple product in my collection and I use them nearly every day. You could easily wear these on their own, but I love using them as primers to make my powder eyeshadow more vibrant and long lasting. I own all of the neutral shades and some slightly more adventurous ones, too, and I now feel like I have one for every look I could possibly imagine.
The staples, and my personal favourites in my stash, are On & On Bronze and Creme De Nude. On & On Bronze was the first one was the first Color Tattoo I purchased and the one I probably use the most. I love using it all over the lid as a wash of colour, with a gold eyeshadow over the top to set it. It's the perfect lazy eyeshadow routine. Creme De Nude is a recent addition to my collection, but it was love at first sight. It's a wonderful base all over the eye right up to the brow bone, it really cancels out the redness on my eyelids and prevents my eyeshadow from creasing. Sometimes I just wear Creme De Nude with a light coloured eyeshadow over the top to brighten up my eyes and it works beautifully.
My other everyday colours are Creamy Beige and Creme De Rose, both are matte colours that Kylie Jenner would be proud of. Creamy Beige is a light brown as the name suggests and is a great nineties colour. Creme De Rose is a sweet light pink when swatched, and even though the colour isn't as visible on the lid I've enjoyed using this underneath pink and taupe eyeshadows.
The more adventurous colours in my stash are Metallic Pomegranate and Vintage Plum, and to be honest they're the most neglected as they need a lot more layering to get a decent payoff. I bought Metallic Pomegranate for Halloween, but ended up using it on an everyday basis in Autumn with red eyeshadow, like I did in this video. Vintage Plum is a matte purple colour, and although it's beautiful it's quite patchy and difficult to blend.
I have some lovely nude colours too, which I bought on eBay from America. There's Barely Branded and Pure Nude. You absolutely don't need both as they're almost identical - but in case you haven't noticed, I have a bit of a problem. These tend to need a little more effort to blend than the other shimmery shades but they're worth it if you like a bright eyed look. I definitely prefer Pure Nude out of the two, it's slightly easier to work with and has a better colour payoff.
Do you own any of the Color Tattoo's? Which ones are your favourites? Are there any more that I really need to get?
