I don't use up a lot of makeup - I have a strange tendency to hoard products, and then they end up expiring before I've had a chance to enjoy them. This year I want to change that and hit pan on a few things! In fact, I'd quite like to do a makeup empties series on this blog. I think if I can use up more of my beauty products, maybe I can justify the ridiculous amount of new junk I buy. I've had a little rummage in my stash, and found a few things I want to use more...
L'Oreal Bare Naturales Powder in 408 Soft Ivory
I bought this at least a year ago to use as a face powder but found it far too glowly. However, since I started using it as a highlighter I haven't been able to put it down! Even though this is discontinued now I want to use it up because I've had it for a while and I want to hit pan before it expires. I really want to find a replacement for it before it's all gone - I'm thinking a semi-matt eyeshadow might do the trick. (If you know any bright, non-glittery, super glowy highlighters in the drugstore, let me know in the comments!)
Maybelline Gel Liner in Brown
I don't think I'm going to be able to completely use this up as I've had this for a while and it doesn't feel as creamy as it used to, but I want to make a nice dent in it before I have to replace it. It's by far my favourite eyeliner, and pretty much the only product that can give me a decent winged liner on my hooded eyes. I know that it got a lot of love before it started to dry up, I just wish I could have used it more.
I Heart Makeup Death By Chocolate Palette
This is one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes in terms of colour selections, but I don't use it as much as I used to since I dropped it and accidentally snapped the lid. It's a bit harder to hold up on camera in tutorials but I could still make more of an effort to use it on an everyday basis. I've never hit pan on an eyeshadow palette before, but I think this would be a great one to start.
Primark PS Lipliner in Dark Pink
Seeing as I went to the trouble of buying four of these I'd like to use at least one up! I adore this lipliner, it's a great colour and comfortable to wear and lasts a long time.
Max Factor Face Finity Foundation in 040 Light Ivory
I've never used up a liquid foundation before because I've never found one that I really loved, however I've been using this almost daily since I reviewed it on my channel. It's the perfect medium-buildable coverage and lasts all day. I don't think it'll be difficult to use this up as I've already made a dent in it, but I'll have to buy a replacement as soon as it's gone as nothing else can cut it for me now. (I still want to buy lots of foundations though, I love to review them and I know a lot of people find them really helpful!)
Gosh Mineral Powder in 002
I love this product, I don't talk about it over here as often as I used to but I still use it all the time. You only need a small amount, which I think is why it's lasted so long. I've been given a second pot of this now by a friend who didn't get on with it so I feel like I should use it more often.
Makeup Revolution Cream Blush in Caramel Shake
The colour of this blush is perfect, it's a beautiful pink-brown shade designed for everyday wear. I don't use it a lot because the product is stiff and can be tricky to work with. I want to try and use it a few more times and see if I can make it work, as I'd love to use cream blush more this year. If I can't, then I might not feel too guilty about saying goodbye to it as it was only about £1.50 if I remember correctly.
I really want to use up more of my makeup in general but this seems like a good place to start. I'll let you know how I get on. What do you guys want to use up this year?
